Privacy policy

We are The Aging Report, a publication about receivables, credit and collections. If you need to contact us about anything in this policy, the details are at the bottom of this page.

When you create an account: your name, email address, country, city, and anything you choose to add to your profile such as a job title, bio, profile picture and social links.

When you submit an article: the article itself, the category and tags you chose, any image you uploaded, and the sources you listed.

When you contact us: your name, email, and the message you sent.

When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address.

When you simply read the site: standard server logs including IP address, browser type and pages visited. These are kept for security and are deleted routinely.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not share your details with data brokers. We do not collect payment information because we do not charge for anything.

Your account details exist so you can log in and so we can attribute your articles to you. Your email exists so we can reply to submissions and tell you when something is published. Newsletter addresses exist only to send the newsletter.

Your display name, job title, bio, country, profile picture and social links appear publicly on your author page and under every article you publish. Your email address is never shown publicly anywhere on the site.

Account details are kept while your account exists. Submissions that are declined are kept for twelve months and then deleted. Contact messages are kept for two years. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete your account. If you ask us to delete your account, tell us what you want done with any articles you have published: we can keep them under your name, keep them anonymously, or remove them.

Email us and we will action any of these within thirty days.

Your data sits on our hosting provider’s servers. Profile pictures may be served from Gravatar if you have not uploaded your own. We use no other third-party services that receive your personal information.

If we change anything significant here, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you directly, email you about it.
